The so called "budget documents build" are signed by the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover and the responsible public project management. With this, the planning of the LNQE scientific new building take a further important step forwards. Now layout and accouterment of all rooms and labs are fixed. There are labs (430 qm for chemical laboratories, measurement laboratories, and laser laboratories), a scientific clean room for nanotechnology (410 qm) and work rooms for ca. 44 people.
With the LNQE scientific new building arise a nanotechnology center in the middle of the university quarter of Hannover. The new building is the first step towards a campus university and therefore vitally important for the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover.
Now the detailed design begins. In parallel, authorizations and Europe-wide calls for tenders concerning build take place.

- June 2007: Begin of the site development.
- September 2007: anticipated start of construction.
- October 2007: laying the foundation stone.
