A journey into physics

On 19 January 2024, interested students from the advanced physics course at Kaiserin-Auguste-Viktoria-Gymnasium in Celle went on an excursion to Leibniz University Hannover to find out more about physics.

First, they went to a physics lecture on "Mechanics and Relativity" given by Prof Michael Oestreich. This was followed by a guided tour of the Laboratory for Nano and Quantum Engineering, where nanotechnology in the clean room and transmission electron microscopy were demonstrated. Finally, representatives of the physics student council shared their experiences of studying physics and becoming a physics teacher with the pupils and were able to give valuable advice on possible courses of study.

The excursion was certainly a lot of fun for everyone involved!
