Great news from the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Leibniz University Hannover: Dr. Jannika Lauth has been awarded the ADUC Prize by the Association of German University Professors of Chemistry (ADUC) and the German Chemical Society (GDCh).
The prize is awarded to outstanding young scientists for establishing an independent field of research and is an important step on the way to a professorship.
Within the new Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD and the Caroline Herschel Program for Women Scientists in the Department of Functional Nanostructures, Dr. Lauth's research group is engaged in the study of ultra-thin 2D semiconductor materials that have what it takes to revolutionize optoelectronics. The structures are as thin as graphene and have physicochemical properties that have great potential for electronic components such as novel light-emitting diodes or transistors. Dr. Lauth combines the ultra-short time spectroscopic investigation and evaluation of ultra-thin 2D semiconductors with their colloidal production and improvement.
