SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award 2016 for Udo Römer

Research project for new contacts of solar cells from ISFH and MBE

This year's "Junior Einstein Award" by Solarwold was presented to the young scientists Dr. Udo Römer from the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hameln (ISFH) and Dr.-Ing. Frank Feldmann from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE).

In his doctorate, Dr. Udo Römer researched new passivating contacts, which allow a considerable increase in efficiency for silicon solar cells. The research project was jointly carried out by the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hameln in the group of Prof. Robby Peibst and the Institute for Materials and Devices of Electronics (MBE) at Leibniz Universität Hannover in the group of Prof. Tobias Wietler. Part of the technologically complex work took place in the clean room of the Laboratory of Nano and Quantum Engineering (LNQE).

Congratulations from the LNQE!
