Prof. Dr. Karina Morgenstern from the Institute for Solid State Physics, Surface Science section joins the LNQE by unanimous decision of the executive board. Thus the number of work groups in the LNQE is increased to the remarkable number of 23. Prof. Morgensterns call to the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover is just two years young and was conceived from the very first to provide a larger basis for nanotechnology here in Hannover.

- Manipulation
- Laser-induced electron transfer reactions

The most-important research methods are STM and fs-laser.
