Synthesis and Characterization of Nanocrystal-based Gel Materials for Electrocatalysis

Leitung:  N. Bigall

Jahr:  2017

In this project, various nanocrystal-based gel materials are to be produced with a view to improved electrocatalytic activity. In addition to pure (noble) metal nanoparticles, metal oxides or various heteroparticles are to be used as building blocks. In contrast to the conventional wet chemical procedure, a cryogelation process is to be used here. Following the preparation, a basic, structural and electrochemical characterization of the cryogel materials is to be carried out in order to gain a knowledge about the influence of different parameters on the electrocatalytic activity of these substances. With regard to a technical application, our aim is to enhance the electrocatalytic activity and the long-term stability.
