High award for energy research in nanoporous materials

Professor Dr Jürgen Caro, together with Professor Dr Jörg Kärger from Leibzig University, was awarded the "Advanced Environmental Solutions" prize of the 2020 ENI Award for their work leading to the development of micro-imaging techniques for the observation of diffusive molecular fluxes in nanoporous materials. Prof. Dr Jürgen Caro from the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Leibniz University Hannover is a long-standing member of the LNQE, was a member of the LNQE board from 2005 to 2011 and represented chemistry on the study commission for the nanotechnology course.

The Eni Awards 2020 will be presented on 14 October 2021 during an official ceremony at the Quirinal Palace in Rome, in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic. The Eni Award is a prize awarded by the Italian oil and gas company Eni with the aim of promoting better use of energy sources and increased environmental research. It is also referred to as the "Nobel Prize of energy research". The high award is endowed with 200,000 euros.
