Opening Ceremony Lower Saxony PhD-programme hsn-sensors

08.02.2017

Lower Saxony promotes this new PhD-programme at the Leibniz Universität Hannover with partners from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover. The PhD-programme started now with 12 graduates promoted with a Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg scholarship and additional 12 Phd-students from the research groups. This we want to celebrate!

Hannover School for Nanotechnology: Interdisciplinary Approaches for Smallest Sensors (hsn-sensors)
The aim of the doctoral programme is the interdisciplinary training of young scientists on the highly topical field of nanotechnology, concentrated on sensor technology. Involved in the programme are the disciplines of physics, chemistry, and engineering. Sensors with nanoscale surfaces, sensors that transfer information from the nanoscopic world in the macroscopic world and sensors that use nanoeffects as sensor principle, are collectively defined as nanosensors. Nanosensors often use sensing principles not known from conventional sensors. They offer exciting new possibilities for research and development.
