The newest member of the Leibniz University Hannover Foundation Council is Prof. Dr. Michael Oestreich from the Institute of Solid State Physics. Prof. Oestreich has been a member of the Leibniz University Hannover Senate since 2019. He has been a member of the Laboratory for Nano and Quantum Engineering for over twenty years.
Professor Oestreich has been a representative of the university senate in the Foundation Council since mid-2025. The Foundation Council also consists of five external members and a representative of the relevant ministry. The Foundation Council passes resolutions on matters of fundamental importance to the foundation, advises the university and monitors the activities of the Presidium.
