On 21 October 2025, four international early-career researchers received awards from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the University Office for International Affairs (HI) and the Leibniz Universitätsgesellschaft. The awards were presented at the Leibnizhaus by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Regina Nogueira, Vice-President for International Affairs and Sustainability at LUH.
Congratulations from the LNQE to all winners, especially our nanotechnology student Sayyed Yashar Ghorashi, who was awarded the Leibniz Universitätsgesellschaft prize of 500 euros.
Sayyed Yashar Ghorashi was born in Tehran (Iran). After graduating in mechanical engineering in Iran, he has been studying for a master's degree in nanotechnology at LUH since April 2023. In addition to his technical expertise, Sayyed Yashar Ghorashi has focused on learning the German language and has already taught German at various institutions. As chairman of the Iranian student group, he also uses this skill to translate for students in their dealings with the authorities. Sayyed Yashar Ghorashi was nominated by Dr. Katrin Radatz, programme coordinator for nanotechnology.
