Prof. Dr. Oliver Plettenburg's group is involved in drug research, development of chemical probes and targeted drug transport. Of particular interest to the LNQE is work on implants (complex titanium implants, vascular prostheses or functionalised CMOS chips).
Since 2016, he has headed the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry of Helmholtz Zentrum München, which is located as a satellite entirely at Leibniz University Hannover in the Institute of Organic Chemistry.
