Honorary Doctorate for Franz Renz

High honour for LNQE member

On 13 December 2022, a solemn meeting of the Scientific Council of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (Slovakia) took place. At the ceremony, the honorary title of Doctor honoris causa was conferred on Prof. Dr Franz Renz. He has been working with UCM Trnava on DAAD projects for more than 10 years. The honorary doctorate makes him the first Dr. h. c. in chemistry at Leibniz University Hannover in over 30 years. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Austrian Ambassador.

Since 2008, he has been Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Leibniz University Hannover and a member of the Laboratory of Nano and Quantum Engineering. His research interests include materials chemistry, complex chemistry and molecular magnetism. He is also involved in the physical study of nanoscopic objects using Mössbauer spectroscopy.
